If there are special requirements for escape routs (e. g. stair cases in multistory buildings or inlying stair cases) it is necessary to apply a pressure ventilation system. With these overpressure systems fans blow air into the areas to be protected in order to increase the pressure in this area compared to the neighbouring areas. This prevents that smoke penetrates into the escape route. This pressure may not exceed 50 Pa to the neighbouring areas. Therefor a permanent pressure regulation via a pressure sensor and a relief opening built in the upper area is necessary. This opening also serves in the run-up of a triggering for "purging" the escape route if smoke has already penetrated into the escape route.
